Authoring Services

Officina’s Authoring Services range in complexity from simple copy-writing to short and mid-length non-fiction. This is too complex an area to cover on our rate card, so please contact us if you need more information.

We do not offer full ‘ghost writing’ services, believing that customers nowadays are likely to take the cheaper and quicker AI route, despite the likely ‘flattening out’ of the prose that this may entail.

However, there is something of a grey area between our developmental editing service at its most extensive and the sort of piecemeal ‘ghost-writing’ that helps authors fill in sections of a book that they are particularly struggling with. We would certainly offer this service as an ‘enhanced’ form of developmental editing (with a concomitant surchase over and above the developmental editing rates shown on our rate card).

Our own use of AI in this respect is limited to research and collation work on the non-fiction jobs we take on. AI offers real advantages in these ‘behind the scenes’ areas, allowing us to reduce both the time and cost of this service.
